Apricot Kernel Oil: light, gentle and a little bit luxurious
Share
Apricot kernel is one of those quietly lovely oils — light, soft and gentle enough for the most delicate skin, including faces that don't get on with much.
Where it comes from
It's pressed from the kernels of apricots, Prunus armeniaca. It's similar in feel to sweet almond — a good stand-in if you're avoiding nut oils — but a touch lighter and silkier.
What it does for your skin
It's rich in oleic and linoleic acids and naturally contains vitamins A and E, so it softens, nourishes and absorbs without heaviness. It's especially lovely for sensitive, delicate, dry and mature skin, and gentle enough for facial oils and baby-soft body blends.
How to use it
- As a light facial oil, alone or blended
- In serums, lotions and gentle balms
- As a soothing massage oil for delicate skin
Like all oils, add a little vitamin E to keep it fresh and lovely.
