Jojoba Seed Oil Cold Pressed

Jojoba is a bit of a marvel. Technically it's a liquid wax rather than an oil, and it's so close in make-up to our skin's own sebum that your skin simply drinks it in. Cold-pressed and unrefined, it's one of the most versatile ingredients you can keep on your shelf.

INCI: Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil

Wonderful for: every skin type. It's an excellent emollient and moisturiser that helps balance oil production, so it suits oily and dry skin alike, and it's high in vitamins B and E.

What to make with it: beautiful in creams, lotions, balms and facial oils, and lovely in haircare too — nourishing for the scalp, and often used in shampoos and conditioners.

Good to know:

• A liquid wax — fluid at room temperature, and sets below 10°C
• Absorption: absorbs easily without ever feeling heavy
• Very stable, with a long shelf life
• Similar in composition to the skin's own sebum
