Safflower Oil: the light, linoleic-rich oil for oilier skin

Safflower is the oil I reach for when skin is on the oilier side. It's light, it sinks in fast, and it doesn't leave that heavy film some richer oils can.

What makes it useful

It's high in linoleic acid, and that matters: oily and blemish-prone skin is often low in linoleic acid, and oils rich in it tend to feel lighter and sit better on that kind of skin. So safflower is a gorgeous, affordable choice for lotions and face oils aimed at combination or congested skin.

What it does for your skin

It softens and conditions, absorbs quickly with a light finish, and plays nicely in almost any oil blend where you want to keep things feeling fresh rather than rich.

How to use it

  • As the light base of a facial oil for oilier skin
  • In the oil phase of lotions and creams
  • Blended with jojoba for a balancing everyday oil

It's a more delicate oil, so keep it cool and always add vitamin E.
