Safflower Oil

Safflower Oil is a real repairing oil — especially high in skin-loving linoleic acid, one of the main building blocks of a healthy skin barrier.

INCI: Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil

Wonderful for: dry, damaged, eczema- or psoriasis-prone skin — and it's lovely for oily, combination and acne-prone skin too, where regular use can help soften the look of pores and calm breakouts.

What to make with it: beautiful in facial oils, serums, creams and lotions, for both dry and blemish-prone skin.

Good to know:

• Fatty acid profile: linoleic ~78%, oleic ~13%, palmitic ~7%
• Oils high in linoleic acid have a shorter shelf life, so I'd pair Safflower with an oil high in oleic acid (sweet almond is perfect), or add a little vitamin E (around 0.3%), to keep your formulations stable
