Candelilla Wax

Candelilla Wax is the plant-based hero of vegan balm-making — a beautiful alternative to beeswax, made from the leaves of the candelilla shrub. It's harder than beeswax, so a little goes a long way.

INCI: Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax

What it does: a firm, natural hardening wax that thickens and sets anhydrous products, giving balms structure and a lovely glossy finish — completely plant-based.

What to make with it: vegan lip balms, body and hand balms, salves and lotion bars.

Good to know:

• Vegan — a plant-based swap for beeswax
• Harder than beeswax, so use roughly half the amount (start around 8–12% in balms)
• Melts around 68–73°C
