Rosemary Extract (ROE)

Rosemary Extract — often called ROE — is a maker's best friend for keeping oils and butters fresh. A natural antioxidant that helps hold rancidity at bay.

INCI: Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract

What it does: slows the oxidation that turns oils and butters rancid, helping to extend the shelf life of your oil-rich products.

What to make with it: add to balms, butters, body oils and any anhydrous, oil-rich formulation.

Good to know:

• A tiny amount does the job — typically around 0.1% (do follow the supplier's guidance)
• It's an antioxidant, not a preservative — it won't protect water-based products from microbes
• Strongly scented and potent, so measure carefully
