What it does: tones, calms and gently tightens the look of pores, and helps bath bomb mixes hold their shape without setting off the fizz too soon.

What to make with it: facial toners and mists, cooling gels, and as the binding spritz when you're making bath bombs.

• Water-based — if you're adding it to a leave-on product, it'll need a suitable preservative
