Simple Facial Serum Oil

A good facial oil is the easiest bit of skincare to make yourself, and one of the loveliest to use. This is a simple, blendable base you can tweak for your own skin. Makes 30ml.

The base (for most skin)

Tailor it to your skin

  • Dry or mature: swap some almond for extra argan and add a few drops of evening primrose.
  • Oily or blemish-prone: lean on jojoba, which helps balance rather than clog.
  • Sensitive: keep it simple — mostly jojoba and almond, no essential oils.

Make it a kit: a little bottle of three oils and some vitamin E, ready to blend — a gorgeous 'build your own serum' kit.

Method

  1. Measure the oils straight into a clean 30ml dropper bottle.
  2. Add the vitamin E.
  3. Cap it, roll it gently between your palms to mix, and label it.

Use a few drops on clean, slightly damp skin morning or night. If you'd like to add essential oils, keep the total to about 1% (roughly 6–9 drops in 30ml) and always patch-test first.
