All-Purpose Rescue Balm
Share
Every home needs a jack-of-all-trades balm — for dry hands, rough elbows, cuticles, chapped lips and little scrapes. This is the one I always have on the go.
You'll need (makes about 100g)
- Beeswax — 15% (15g)
- Shea Butter — 25% (25g)
- Coconut Oil — 15% (15g)
- Sweet Almond Oil — 20% (20g)
- Castor Oil — 10% (10g)
- Jojoba Oil — 13.9% (14g)
- Vitamin E (Tocopherol) — 1% (1g)
- Rosemary Extract (ROE) — 0.1% (a drop or two), to keep it fresh
Method
- Melt the beeswax, shea butter and coconut oil together gently in a bain-marie.
- Add the sweet almond, castor and jojoba oils and stir until melted.
- Take off the heat and stir in the vitamin E and rosemary extract.
- Pour into tins and leave to set.
A few tips
This is an anhydrous balm (no water), so it doesn't need a preservative — just keep it away from water and it'll last beautifully. Add a few drops of your favourite essential oil at the end if you'd like it scented.
Everything you need is in my Butters, Carrier Oils and Antioxidants & Preservatives. 🤍
